The Department of Health and Social Care has extended serious shortage protocols for two drugs.

Fluoxetine 30mg capsules, which was due to expire today, will be available until May 17 while the SSP for Levothyroxine 12.5mcg tablets has been extended until March 19.

The PSNC urged contractors to use “the latest version of an SSP before considering the supply of an alternative product.”

SSPs for Fluoxetine 10mg tablets and Fluoxetine 40mg capsules expire on March 31.
